McLean 6th Grade
Center PTA 2011-2012 Welcome to McLean 6th Grade! As our children start their academic year at this wonderful school, we ask you to support them by volunteering to be a part of our Parent Teacher’s Association (PTA). For over 100 years, PTAs across the country have worked to improve the education, health and welfare of children. What does our PTA do? In addition to providing hundreds and hundreds of volunteer hours to the school, with support for the students, faculty and staff, our association also: · increases parent/teacher communication, · promotes school community, · raises money for extra academic and facility needs not provided by the district, · seeks to raise parent awareness of the school and district programs, and · provides opportunities for parent involvement. A large body of research indicates that children do best academically when parents are active in their schooling. Becoming a PTA volunteer shows your child that you value their education. In the process, you will meet the fantastic teachers, parents and students that make up our McLean community. Attached to this letter are various ways you can immediately help support the PTA. Given the one year nature of the 6 Thank you for you support! Elizabeth Thomas PTA President McLean 6th Grade |
