McLean Band Boosters
Fundraising Begins! You guessed it...our expenses continue to go up as our district funding goes down. Plus, we have more kids in band, with approximately 320 kids in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade bands this year. We need to pay for sheet music, instrument repairs, reeds for the various woodwind instruments, judeges' and entry fees for contests, private lesson fees for lower-income students, and our two major field trips in the spring. Each student is asked to pay a $25 band fee to help offset the cost of sheet music and a band t-shirt. In addition, each student is asked to help pay the fee for the spring field trip. This money may be raised through our upcoming cookie dough sales (September 6th kick off at school) or families may elect to write a check for their field trip fees. In addition, we will have some fundraisers to help the overall band program. Our first event is our Five Guys Hamburger promotion. The second Monday of every month this school year, Five Guys Hamburgers & Fries on Hulen (across from Hulen Mall) will donate 15 percent of all sales to our McLean Band Boosters. That's for dine-in or take-out from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. every second Monday. You must present our band flier (posted on the right) when ordering, for us to get the donation.
